Litigations

A summary of the Criminal prosecutions, and the debt recovery activities under the failed banks Act as well as defensive litigations of failed banks, being managed by the the Corporation can be viewed by clicking Legal Matters

Pursuant to its Statutory Powers under the NDIC Act and as part of its Statutory Obligations towards ensuring safe and sound banking practices, the Corporation's efforts at sanitizing the banking sector is manifested in its implementation of the Failed Banks Act.

To this end, the Corporation is involved in the Criminal prosecution of bank directors, officers and customers suspected of committing banking malpractice.The Corporation is also invloved in the recovery of debts owed to Failed banks in order to pay dividends to depositors of the failed banks.
