This website has been designed to be as accessible as possible and to be compatible with the types of adaptive technology used by people with disabilities, including screen readers. If however you need to change the appearance of the fonts and colours used on this website, the information on this page may help.


Using this Website

The left-hand navigation contains a menu that changes to reflect the various sections as you browse through our websites.
The Top main navigation pane contains links and features related to the current website.

At the bottom of the every page you will find the footer with links to Home, Site Index, Contact us, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy


Change the Text Size


Internet Explorer (5.0, 5.5 and 6.0)

  • Open your Internet Explorer browser.
  • Open the ‘View’ menu with the mouse.
  • Click on ‘Text Size’.
  • Choose your preferred text size with the mouse, or use the up and down arrow keys and press 'Enter'.

Netscape (4.6)

  • Open your Netscape browser.
  • Open the ‘Edit’ menu with the mouse.
  • Select ‘Preferences’ to open the preferences dialog box.
  • Click on ‘Font’ underneath the ‘Appearance’ category. If you cannot see the ‘Font’ double click on ‘Appearance’ to expand the category.
  • Navigate to the ‘Minimum Font Size' box on the right hand side. Click on the arrow and choose a new font size then press ‘Enter’.
  • Now click ‘OK’ or press ‘Enter’ to return to the page you were viewing.

Netscape Navigator (6.2, 7.0)

  • Open your Netscape browser.
  • Hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and press the plus (+) key.
  • You will find that this will enlarge the text, to enlarge again repeat the procedure.
  • Keep repeating until the text is enlarged to your requirements.
  • If you need to make the text smaller press Ctrl on your keyboard and the minus ( - ) key.

Change the Font

Internet Explorer (5.0, 5.5 and 6.0)

  • Open your Internet Explorer browser.
  • Open the ‘Tools’ menu with the mouse.
  • Click on ‘Internet Options’, or press 'O'.
  • Click ‘Accessibility’, or press Alt+E.
  • Check the ‘Ignore font styles specified on Web pages’ checkbox with the mouse or by pressing Alt+S.
  • Click ‘OK’, or press enter.
  • Click ‘Fonts’, or press Alt+N.
  • Select a web page font of your choice with the mouse, or by pressing Alt+W and arrowing through the list.
  • Click 'OK' twice, or press Enter twice.

Netscape (4.6)

  • Open your Netscape browser.
  • Open the ‘Edit’ menu with the mouse.
  • Click on ‘Preferences’ to open the preferences dialog box.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the ‘Font’ heading underneath the ‘Appearance’ category. If you cannot see the ‘Font’ heading, double click on ‘Appearance’ to expand the category.
    Navigate to the box labelled ‘Allow documents to use other fonts’ and press the space bar, or use the mouse, to ensure that this option is not checked.
  • Navigate to the Proportional dropdown box.
  • Choose the font you wish to use - either Serif or Sans Serif.
  • Set the default size. Use the mouse to click in the size box immediately after the proportional font.
  • Navigate to the Serif box. Press up or down, select the font you want to use and press enter, or use the mouse to click on the font that you want to use (this will only be used if you selected Serif as the Proportional font in stage 5).
  • Navigate to the Sans Serif box. Click on the font you want to use (this is only be used if you selected Sans Serif as the proportional font).
  • Navigate to the ‘Cursive’ box. Click on the font you want to use if a cursive font is specified on a webpage.
  • Navigate to the ‘Fantasy’ box. Click on the font you want to use if a ‘Fantasy’ font is specified on a webpage.
  • Navigate to the Monospace box. Click on the font you want to use if a monospace font is specified on a webpage.

Change the Font Colour and Background Colour

Internet Explorer (5.0, 5.5 and 6.0)

  • Click on the Tools menu.
  • Click on 'Internet Options', or press 'O'.
  • Click on the 'Colors' button, or press Alt+O.
  • Choose to have your Windows colour scheme reflected by selecting the "Use Windows color scheme" option with the mouse or by pressing Alt+W.
    or
  • Select either the Text button with the mouse (or by pressing Alt+T), or the Background button with the mouse (or by pressing Alt+B).
  • Select the colour with the mouse or by using the arrow keys.
  • Click the 'OK' button twice, or by press Enter twice.

Netscape (4.6)

  • Open your Netscape browser.
  • Open the ‘Edit’ menu with mouse or press Alt+E.
  • Click on ‘Preferences’ or press 'E'.
  • Click on, or use the arrow keys, to select the ‘Colors’ heading underneath the Appearance’ category. If you cannot see the ‘Colors’ heading,double click on 'Appearance' to expand the category.
  • Choose to have your Windows colour scheme reflected by ‘Tabbing to the Use System Colors option’. or
  • Click on the ‘Text’ or ‘Background color’ option and choose an alternative color.

PDF Files

PDF Documents require Adobe Acrobat viewer to be viewed. The Viewer can be downloaded at www.adobe.com.

New Windows

External links and PDF files open in a new browser window when clicked and allow you to switch between the ndic-ng.com website and the newly opened window. The ‘printable version’ link also opens in a new window in order to display content in a printable format.

Winzip

Winzip allows files to be compressed so that they can be transferred across the WWW in smaller file sizes than their native format allows. It is a quick and easy way to zip and unzip files or folders.
