Making a career in NDIC

The NDIC Human Resources Department is a service department with responsibility for the management of the Human Resource capital of the Corporation. Its functions include, among others, selection, recruitment, training and development, staff welfare/discipline.

The Corporation recognises the fact that a critical factor in the attainment of its corporate objectives is the extent to which it is able to deliver a human resource strategy that is supportive of the Corporate goals and objectives. It therefore places high premium on the quality and availability of skilled manpower needed to achieve the vision, mission and objectives of the Corporation.

In order to attract the best quality staff in a competitive environment, the Corporation has put in place policy guidelines for the selection and recruitment of prospective candidates into the Corporation. Some of these rules and guidelines include, notably the following:-

  • the Corporation shall prevent all forms of discrimination – be it on grounds of sex, tribe or religion,
  • Management shall endeavour to reflect the Principle of Federal Character in its recruitment of staff without necessarily compromising standard or merit.

To be eligible for appointment in the Corporation, the following conditions must be fulfilled:-

  • be over 16 years;
  • possess such minimum educational qualification and experience as may be prescribed for a particular position/grade;
  • be certified by an approved Medical Officer to be in sound health condition and medically fit for employment;
  • possess acceptable reference from previous employer and/or academic institutions and such individuals named as referees;
  • obtain appropriate Police/Security clearance
