Board & Management
Board of Directors
The governing body of the Corporation is the Board of Directors which is responsible for its policy and general Administration. As provided in the enabling Act, the Board is appointed by the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and it consists of the following members: a part time Chairman, three part time members, a representative each of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Finance as members, and a management team made up of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and two Executive Directors.
The present Board was inaugurated on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 and is made up of the following:

Abdullahi Musa - Member
Banker, Legislator, Chairman, House Committee on Commerce, Federal House of Representatives (1999 - 2003). He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and is a graduate of Lagos Business School
He is currently the Special Adviser on Political Matters and Special Projects to the Executive Governor of Nigeria State. He is from Niger State.

Col. Roland Oluwumi Omowa (Rtd) - Member
Civil Servant, Journalist, Author, Soldier, Politician, Businessman, former Aide de Camp (ADC) to the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He is currently Council Member, Federal University of Technology, Owerri and Chairman, Rofel Hotels, Ibadan. He is an indigene of Ondo State.

Alhaji Kalli al-Gazali - Member
Lawyer, Politician, Public Servant, Farmer, Lecturer, former General Manager, Borno Radio Television Corporation and Director of Finance and Administration, Governor's Office, Borno State.
Currently, National Chairman, Movement for Democracy and Justice (MJD). He hails from Borno State.

Mr. G. A. Ogunleye - Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ganiyu Adewale Ogunleye, OFR has been the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) since October 1999 when he was appointed to that position by the Federal Government. He graduated from the University of Ibadan where he obtained his B.Sc degree on Economics in 1973.
Prior to that appointment, he had worked in various operations Departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which he joined in 1974.He also served as the Director of Banking Supervision, a department that is responsible for the supervision of banks and non-bank financial Institutions to ensure the safety and soundness of the financial services industry. He was involved in generating policy papers on Prudential Regulation.

Prof. P. N. Umoh - Executive Director, Operations
A financial economist by training, Prof. Umoh started his career as a banker with First Bank of Nigeria Plc before joining the State of Oregon in the United States of America as an Investment Appraiser. Upon completion of a Ph.D. Programme in Finance, he taught the subject to MBA Students of Atlanta University before joining the University of Port Harcourt as a senior founding member of the MBA Programme.

Fatima Balaraba Ibrahim (Mrs)- Executive Director, Finance & Administration
The Executive Director, Finance & Administration, Mrs Fatima Balaraba Ibrahim attended University of Dakar, Senegal, where she obtained Diploma in French in 1970 before returning home to enrol into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where she bagged a BA (Hons) Degree in French in 1973. She proceeded for her Masters Degree in French at Bayero University, Kano which she obtained in 1978.
